Yep. Gotta 5' Aquaone with the bent 1 piece glass, with Cichlids, Cannister Filter, UV Filter, Power head, with coral rock.

The UV Filter is amazing. I clean the tank once a year (obviously do fortnightly water changes) but it stays so clean.

I have changed it slightly since then. Ditched most of the fake plants, thrown a big fuck off submarine in there and a few other things.

Hey there

Personally I think Vebas is the best for your equipment. Best prices and largest range.
I have bought everything from there.

2 x Eheim Pro 3 Filters 1 x Eheim internal power head filter, UV light steriliser, 1 HP chiller, 2 x Jager / Eheim heaters, shago air pumps, etc, etc,

Also 6 foot long, 2 foot wide, 2 1/2 foot high tank with aris edges. (most locally made tanks just have normal sharp edge glass)

However I have had some difficulty in finding a suitable cabinet and hood. I engaged a couple of cabinet makers with a design and was quoted from $4500 to $3500 for a 6 foot cabinet in 100% gloss white finish.
Also when they realise 1 L of water = 1 kg thus it will need to hold almost 1 tonne in weight they refused to make it. Claiming liability issues if the cabinet were to fail.
That wasted 6 months messing about waiting for quotes, so finally I bought a standard Timber 6 foot cabinet from Veba's.
I am sure if I looked harder I would have found somebody, but I didn't have the time during the week and most business are closed over the weekend.

I would really be interested to know who can supply that white cabinet you have an image posted. Is it from Melbourne or a local supplier ?

Hope to have it delivered in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to setting it up hopefully less maintenance.
My 30 cichlids have out grown little 4 foot tank, with only an eheim pro 2 and a ehiem classic I still have to do a 50% weekly water change ! and clean everything. cant stand looking at a dirty tank or off colored water.

Ask for Patrick, owner and most helpful.

Also talk to:

Paul owner at Morley Aquariums

Kevin owner from Malaga Aquariums

Aquotix

Buy most my African cichlids from the above mentioned stores and I find Aquotix have high quality fish. (However they are quite expensive in comparison, although you do get what you pay for.)

I run a 4 outlet adjustable air pump. I don't know the make of it but I bought it from Lotus Blossom Watergardens almost 10 years ago. It is still going strong.

This is my setup. Cannister filter into UV Filter, then out. It's messy but can't be seen.

I will find out tomorrow a better idea of price and the cabinet.
The white cabinet just looks clean and modern, the mrs doesnt like any of the pine ones with pattern in the doors etc, is very hard.

time will tell. Not giving me confidence now after you saying how hard it was for you .

Yes I agree, I also had visions of a 100% gloss white cabinet more modern looking.

Veba's cabinets are solid timber with a polyutherane finish, not cheap stained partical board or MDF.

I'll have to hit up Ikea for some interesing chrome or brushed aluminium door handles at least.

Rimless planted FTW

Need to update the photo though, there's a few more plants and a large school of ember tetra in there now. That was taken about 6 weeks ago.
