Morley quoted me this today
The price for an aquarium 5' x 2' x 2'6" (1525 x 610 x 760mm
tall) + 50% gloss white deluxe cabinet & matching hood would be $2034.00.
This price includes glass lids, 20mm poly base pad & GST.

sounds good

Nice.. if it had space underneath the cabinent u might have been able to use a hydrolic lift to move it around?/

But if no1 wants to touch it i wouldnt want to do it myself either..

I do have a 6x2x2 tank which i had around 6 mates carry it to the ute and a steel frame. That was a mission

Dan no lighting, I am going to do that my self As i have trade price from electrical wholesalers I will sort out some T5 lighting my self or something simular not sure what light i shoudl put in yet But i want it to be bright and white and low running cost.

This is his advice for lighting
"Lighting will depend on what you wish to achieve with the tank, if it a ciclhlid tank or you are not trying to grow plants then you are best off with a standard light system with T8 tubes, these are more reliable & cheaper to replace than T5 systems, they will also grow less algae. A twin T8 system would cost $159.00 inc. tubes. If you wish to grow plants then I would use a T5 system, there are a couple of these that we use & the prices start at around $210 for a remote ballast sytem with quality tubes & goes up to around $1000 "

In regards to the that second hand tank I thought fck it ill just get it new at least i get a warranty with tank and it gets delivered brand new, no worries etc.

Can you get the lighting to go under the hood though?

Here is a pic of my under hood lighting. Might give you some ideas

It is a dual light setup. I ran two different temperatures in the light. One for colour of fish and the other for growth of plants.

EDIT: Reading your post, I am running one T8 and one T5. Algae is no issue with some water clear blocks and a UV Filter.

Yeah T8 is probably the way to go he said cheaper , and use's less power. The t5 is just a bit brighter.

He is also talking about a light and seperate ballast. Chances are I will just get him to do the light for me as it saves me the hassel and its all fitted when i get it that way.

is there anything else i need to think off ? As im going on sunday to see him and place order and give deposit, and do final screw down on price.

any other little things i need to think of or features i need to make life easier etc ??

Buy the biggest fuck off canister filter you can buy and also purchase a power head. Buy a UV Filter and a decent air pump with more than 2 outlets.

P.S My T8 and T5 were $15 and $30 each. Not exactly expensive.

I have a 1000lph filter already in the mail which i ordered for this tank before i decided to get new tank.

What is the power head for ?

with air pumps there is so many differtn types and trying to compare LPM etc
I also seen these ones on ebay look like big heavy duty fckers
ill find an example tell me what you think.

How long are your lights ? thats cheap compared to what he quoted me above .

120 LPM And I would just put a single to 4 or 5 way adaptor ?
is that right or not enough to much ?

This one is only 800 L per Hour which is 13 ltr p min compared to above one being 120per min

Its an internal filter like this one
http://www.aquaone.co.uk/filter_internal.php

It helps to filter water of course but also circulates water around the tank. I find if I have it off my Cichlids become lame. If it creates a slight current, they seem to be happier.

My lights are roughly 1m long.

The pumps are a pain. FYI Aquaone make shit pumps. They are noisy and don't last long. Steer clear of them. They make really good products... except pumps!

Gang valves are a good idea.
