whatever you do dont send it in for a warranty job. Missus sent hers in cause it was playing up, as far as we knew hadnt even been near water, they claimed 1 of the 3 water sensors had changed colour and it cost nearly $300 to get it fixed.

dropped my iphone in the toilet, it was submerged for about 5/6 seconds. Wouldn't turn on etc etc. Completely dead. 2 days completely covered in rice fixed it.

Wise words, your warranty will never be valid again as the water strips don't change back after they've gone pink.

The rice should work, you can use a hair dryer but for god's sake don't use it hot, only cold air, otherwise you'll superheat the water inside and melt the shit out of everything.

Can reccomend Fone Ezy in Piccadilly arcade nice cheap repairs and they do post water damage cleaning.

+1 for Fone Ezy. The guy there knows his phones and is good on price.

salt water - forget it!

potable water - dry it out for a few days, preferably with the screen out

I have had one survive a potable water scare, when I opened it up after a subsequent dip in salt water it has started rusting inside

Hey thanks for the advice guys.
Got to work tonight and flooded the thing with contact cleaner then used the air hose here to blow it out. Got it working again. Just there isn't a light on the screen anymore and my microphone doesn't seem to be working.
