The easiest way dependant on your operating system would be:

OS One Windows XP

- Download the image resizer power toy http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/

OS Two Vista/Windows7

- Open image in Paint, click resize and go from there.

If you have Microsoft office 2003 or higher installed, you can use the Microsoft Office Picture Manager to resize images.

Open the Picture Manager and load a photo/picture.
Go to the Picture menu and click on Resize.
From the menu that appears on the right hand side, select custom width x height and set it to 150x150.

Are you trying to change the profile pic or the avatar?

Avatar must be 150 by 150 pixels or 24.4 KB (whichever is smaller).
If your pic is 150x150 but 100kb it will not work.

Use Microsoft Picture Manager and use the Compress Images option.

Its for profile picture not avatar.
i've resized it to less than 100x100 pixels and its 23kb so i dont understand why its not working? the picture is ridiculously small.
I don't think i have microsoft picture manager cos i have the old office on my laptop. i might try it at work instead.
