Default Calling all r/c nitro enthusiasts

Got myself a HPI Firestorm nitro truggy the other day. Instuctions requested I used between 20%-25% nitro fuel. After priming, igniting glow plug and tugging on the pull-start the car still won't start.

I've :

- Checked that the glow plug is ignited
- Checked that the fuel has been primed and there is fuel in the fuel lining
- Reset the speedle needle to stock position (flush with the sleeve)

Can anyone be of some assistants

ok... just came back from Joondalup Hobbies and charged $50 labour fee and new spark plug.. Problem was it was loosing compression, lose screws and a few other things.

I'm no expert with nitro r/c, but once the car was running the wheels kept spinning forwards. I've tried trimming the throttle a bit so it would idle but no luck.. what next?

If its new, live with it for a while while you run it in over the first couple of tanks, then make minor adjustments on the low speed screw.

Also check that when the throttle is closed that the slide/butterfly is only opened by a couple of mm, (under the air filter), oh and get more glow plugs, if its new you'll need one again soon.

It doesn't hurt to run it rich for the first few tanks of the engines life, but it will foul the plug.

They always spin (centrifugal clutch) unless you are holding the brake on.

Agreed. They don't like to idle much either.

i've already run 5 tanks of fuel and still it keeps cutting out when i apply the brakes to have it run idle. kept tweeking the speedle needle between 1/4 and 3/4 from factory settings. I've noticed also that quite alot of fuel is spitting out of the exhaust..
