Default PC Powerup Fail

Seems I live for PC fail lately. Computer powers up then instantly powers down, 'so essentially all I hear is intermitant fan sounds'.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Does it beep at all?

Most likely will be your power supply.

I used to have a spare but it was adopted. With no post beep I'd suggest power supply as well.

almost certain its the power supply failing. It's happened to me before, just replace power supply.

A above, pull out the power supply, blow out the internals of it and while you're at it everything inside the case and try it again. Make sure the wires going into the HDDs are in and secure too. If there's still no love, get another power supply.

No beeps and the powersupply was just recently replaced 'by recent I'm talking weeks'.

Fair enough could be powersupply, but what can cause this?

Note that we dis lose power momentarily yesterday 'but do have the relevant surge equipment'.

Power out possibly caused a short?

Marc, have a quick check of relevant connectors then. Power supplies shouldn't just keep dying.

An excess of dust isn't good either.
