Default Buying a car ex Queensland - Inspection/Mech. Check & Transport

I'm looking at bringing a 60's muscle car over from Queensland, does anyone know a reputable company to get to carry out a mechanical appraisal before I fly all the way over there??

Also, anyone bought a car from QLD that can give me a ballpark transport cost??

I know there was someone on here that bought a Valiant ex the east, but I've searched and cant find the thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Josh

Call the old boy re transport Josh. We got a caravan and motorbike over for $1500 mates rates. I would imagine, work off of a figure around there.

EDIT: Should say that was UNinsured.

I moved home and cars over from Brisbane to Perth just over a year ago. Each car cost me $1020 using Autotrans but that was done through Kent removals. If done directly Autotrans wanted over $1200.

i got my car from townesville for $1390. I booked through carcarring.com the service was fairly poor as they had no idea where abouts the car was everytime I called them up and took nearly a month.

I used Autotrans to move from Brisbane to Perth. Transport was smooth and trouble-free (except that they didn't ring me when it arrived).

Just over a month ago I bought a car from QLD and had it shipped over by toll autotrans. Was told it would be 2weeks travel time so after 1 week I emailed them for an updated eta. At that point I was told it would be an additional 2 weeks. I replied asking why the delay and I got a reply saying it was actually ready for me to collect. Other than the miscommunication I had no probs with them. Car arrived without a scratch but was a little dusty.
