How do you tether it - bluetooth?

Bluetooth or Wifi Hotspot. (Your Carrier has to support it).

Then pair the iPad to the Hotspot connection created .

I have the pre-paid too. Costs bugger all for a year and is really useful for those few occasions you want to use it where there is no wifi.

Side note: I always thought the analogue tv system was meant to be taken down earlier but because hoons were scaring dodgy tradesmen, the uptake to digital took longer than expected delaying the switch off. Or maybe I'm thinking of when they switched analogue foxtel off...

Actually the take down begun in 2010. Just the completion is scheduled for 2013. It has been progressively being taken down around the country, region by region.

Edit: I shouldn't technically say "Taken down," but rather the Spectrum being free'd Up & no longer being used by the old Analog systems.

What slapdash said.
I already get 3gig a month on my phone cap, which i use about 1 fifth of (if i really really push it)...
Why give more of my hard earned dough to telecommunications companies when i can keep it?

The 3G/4G iPad/tablet/netbook world is pointless unless you are travelling and need to buy a data sim from the country you are in (then its really good).

Lets face it, if you are gonna be in Aus and you have an iPhone/smartphone and WiFi in the home and office. Then why? (unless you don't care about your money that is....) id rather pay off my mortgage and purchase car bit's than waste money on giving it to Telstra
ImPreSiV and Slap Dash like this.

Or you want the GPS functionality on your iPad, which isn't included in the wifi only ones...

LOL!
GPS on an iPad? are you gonna sit it on your lap whilst driving?
iPhone yes (mount on your windscreen). iPad no.... I am seriously struggling to think when on earth you would need that unless you did this.....

Nah, I actually use the GPS in it quite a bit. The screen realestate is awesome for seeing large maps. And no, not going to stick that to the dash board!

I also currently teather my ipad 2 from my iphone.. how ever I dont really like it as much.
Drains phone battery and also the iphone gets so hot when teathering.
It is a great feature to have but i thought for a small fee good to have a ready to go sim in the ipad, and plus ill get work to pay for the data plan anyway :P

Plus I find the data flow when teathered isnt very fast, I find it is faster viewing on phone than teather,.

so dual band 3g will be awesome with built in sim, much faster probably be faster to then teather from ipad back to phone haha
