'04 E46 S/C M3 Coupe

Not so much happy, but I got a good giggle out of it after talking to my mate on the phone.

He lives in Melbourne with a 2011 wrx hatch and he decided to do the red / smoked overlays on his rear tailights, wanted me to do the smoked indicators to mine - told him nah, not worth the attention from the police etc. Told me I was a pussy, cops dont care about that shit....blah blah blah - usual mate ribbing.

Anyways, he got pulled over at a booze bus last night and while he was blowing in the bag, another cop was checking his car over (he blew 0.00). The other cop came over and told him his smoked overlays were illegal. My mate piped up and tried to convince them they were "factory". The cop told him to get out of the car, and follow him - 2 cars up was their unmarked WRX hatch. The cop said they must have missed his at the factory LOL.

But instead of giving him a yellow, they said they would come by his house in a day or two to make sure he had taken off the smoked overlay on the indicators and asked about where to get the red overlays. So they were pretty cool about it......

Was at a VERO assessment centre days ago - 4 yellow damaged cars? Out of 12? Asked an assessor, "they can't ALL be before the accident yellows...".

The cops that attend accidents are putting yellows on vehicles to meet "quota". Didn't wan't to believe the reply.
