Still wondering what I can do with it besides the obvious. Any tips on what you use it for?

Does apple tv give you free view channels or does it just allow you to stream from your computer to your tv? We've got a PlayTV hooked up to a PS3 to give us the free view channels but it's not great and thinking of replacing. Don't want foxtel.

I just use it to play wireless music from my phone through home theatre and Mirror the screen from my iPhone, and soon to be iPad.
Angry birds on 60inch LED is definitely all it's cracked up to be!

I've got an Apple Airport express to stream my music through my surround sound system so I don't need an Apple TV for that. I'd still be keen on one if you it can pick up freeview.

No it doesn't stream TV. Doesn't your TV have an inbuilt tuner?

There isn't much use for the AppleTV to be honest. It is just a way of streaming content from your computer to the TV. It works fantastically streaming everything in iTunes to your TV and if you jailbreak you can run XBMC (or any alternative) and watch pretty much any format you can throw at it.

I would be expecting apps to arrive on it very soon though (maybe with ios6), which will mean buying another copy of Angry Birds!
