Kinda. its running a 8spd shimano alfine hub under the seat. basically a gearbox. I can shift gears without having to pedal. I don't have to worry about smashing a derailleur and my bike is dead silent where are other make noise. Its a bit heavier than a similar specced bike but its all central so I still feel light on the trails.
