The vehicle speed setting is what is utilized by the speedo and also as inaccurate. I have both set up on one of my data scan pages and it's a laugh seeing the difference between vehicle speed numbers and GPS speed.
I have vehicle speed and gps speed and see a very small difference between the two, at worst it would be 2 or 3km/h difference.
Where as comparing these to the physical speedomoter in the dash, it usually is at least 5km/h or more out.

Doesn't the ECU DS utilise the abs speed sensor for the "vehicle speed"?
(might be applicable to wrx 08 onwards?!)

had both set up at one stage just to see the differences, but the difference between the two isn't significant at all (2km/h-3km/h)

I've always found my GPS to be spot on when cruising. Does the ECUdatascan have the ability to log your journey and speed via gps? This is something that the BlackVue cameras do which is handy.

hmm..not entirely sure about that. Can't say I've used that side of functionality of the ECUDS yet, but I think it can do some logging to an extend?

Maybe someone might know a bit more? (Tony I know you are lurking in the shadows!)

The unit logs errors, thats about it from what I've found.
Unfortunately the forums have been down for quite some time and the email address I have from Daren keeps bouncing back

Watching the drunk aboriginals on my street arguing and then seeing one of them drop their can of Emu... was world war three.

Mine is about 5-7Kms out but I do have different rims to OEM. My speedo is 10% out so when I am doing 100 Km/h my speedo shows 110 Km/h.

Daren has obviously given up on the sales and support based on the failure to reinstate his website or reply to emails.

I believe that any screen data is able to be logged. However, if you were going to use it as a possible defence against incorrect speeding tickets you would need to have GPS position with longitude and latitude which isn't exactly easy. Further, you would have to turn on recording every time.
