Me too. Supposedly makes a massive mess of the yard, costs circa $1k and saves a guy a couple of days with a wire wheel on a grinder. I imagine the car is on a rotisserie but I wont find out till Monday. Dave has finally got his ass into gear and ordered a heap of gear for it today. Found a full turbo back titanium exhaust. Should save over 10kg from stock. This whole weight loss thing is so damm addictive. So far the big ticket items are: The battery - 14kg Water Blasting - 20 + kg Exhaust - 10 + kg Need to weigh the stock seat on Monday but the new ones are 7.4kg Might get it to super low 1400 kg's yet. Should go alright with approx 260 kw atw. Im leaving Karratha for good tomorrow night so photo updates will be far more regular over the next couple of months. Brendon |
^^^^ Hearing you on the weightloss Brendon. It can never be a bad thing. Do it once and do it right (or is that if its worth doing its worth overdoing) will definately save redoing things at a less convenient time later.
Reckon your Ti exhaust will net you more than 10kg. They are silly light.I was going as far as looking at which dump pipes were lighter, and using lightweight non structural bolts. Its minor but it all adds up. EMO got down to 1245kg. |
Update: The car has been completely stripped and is off to the water blaster to get rid of all the seem sealer. Supposedly 20+ kg's of the crap to come out.
Holy crap, that's what I call precision engineering :confused1 Once removed is a lightweight sealer applied or just repaint interior? |

Once removed is a lightweight sealer applied or just repaint interior?
or let it rust...rust dissolves metal and hence weighs less :D |
So Race Torque totally unprompted sent me some photos.
Enjoy.
