Update:

As some of you know I had a small off at Targa High country. Three left then right combination corners in a row and when I got to the 2nd right I thought I was at the last one which was more open and any ways slid off the road. Was the weakest crash of all time but ended up doing a fair bit of damage. Effectively ripped the front left wheel off. Neither myself nor the co driver were even remotely stiff / sore the next morning. Best bit was that the chassis did not move whatsoever.

It didnt look too bad until we were pulling it up onto the truck and the tow strap broke and it rolled off the back of the truck and fell 3 foot onto the ground. That was the end of the radiator and a couple of other things.

NOT ROTA'S!

Calipers aren't usually meant to look like this

Rotor is a bit fingered!

Lower wishbone:

So this is how it came back to me.....

Effectively meant I would miss Targa Wrest point but the big push was to have it fixed and ready for Targa Tas in April.

So I stripped it all myself. I ended up doing everything except the panel work / painting.

Stripped:

Started at the K - Frame and cleaned and rebuilt everything as I went.

All but back together

Finally put the bumper and bonnet etc back on. All I am waiting for now is the brakes to arrive from the UK. I got an email last night from the mob I am dealing with saying that they have arrived with them.

Did you know that a Evo X bumper has well over 100 screws, rivets, clips, bits of rubber, plastic etc....

It has to be on the truck to Melbourne for Targa Tas on the 26th March. So before then I will do some testing at Collie and get a decent wheel alignment set up on it.

Stuff! Not as bad as the damage Stewy did to his Spec C. Have you seen how he has rebuilt his? Better than ever! Looks like you have done a great job to!

Nice work Mr Winterbourn...always very satisfying (and much cheaper) to do it yourself! Lucky you had a big empty shed in which to do it as well.....

You travelling over with the same people you did last year?

I was telling our head GTR mechanic Pat at work about your car before Targa last year, and how cool the build was... couldn't believe it when he came back from the event and told me that you'd travelled with them small world.
