Kato - Joe is wrong in this case, I corrected him earlier and he deleted my post.
I would just like to point out once again that he is wrong. Signed fixed lease is in place, regardless of ownership transfer.

There's another home open this weekend, the owners have agreed to a periodic lease from the 4th of October until such time that the house sells or we move out. In a way its a huge relief as right now between working fulltime in Armadale and bridesmaids duties for best friend's wedding in 3 weeks time I actually don't have time left for packing, moving, unpacking.

correct. see first paragraph of point 18 of Residential Tenancies Act. 30 day vacate notice does not apply to fixed leases. http://reiwa.com.au/Faq/Faqs/Pages/QA.aspx?Qid=4959 I need to jack up my rent!! tenants got it too cheap!
