One of the kids recently dropped the wife's phone from about 5 feet and it landed face down................... and that's where it stayed.

Picked it up and the screen is completely shattered, gotta love 20 month olds.

Anyway, where is the best place to go to get the screen replaced? Fast and doesn't take you for a ride in the cost department.

I did that, they saw me on time, gave me a brand new phone for free, out the door in 20 minutes.

They wont keep giving you new ones, but general the first one is free.

Is it Out of Warranty? Repair/Replace it @ Apple = $268.95 Also get an as good as new refurbished replacement. Half the time the Guys are nice and will just swap it with a replacement at no cost. Apple is all about Customer service

Recently had my a family members screen replaced on a htc desire by the guys at Haiou, cost was around $120.00 for a new screen.
They pretty much do everything

Haiou are hit and miss, fixed my 3g fine, and ruined my 3gs.

Have had a few mates go to the occasional Phone repairer only for the thing to have a weaker product (Glass) Put on and break a few months later. You may save initially but will cost you in the long run. Plus always a chance as stated, Apple will just replace it free of charge. Worth the shot.

+1 to apple perth, they give you a new one free if its your first time. Just make sure you buy a decent cover, preferably rubber/hard rubber to absorb impact and so your screen doesnt touch the ground. Have dropped it many times since and not a scratch Go for the speck ones they have as they are decent quality.

Did my 3g myself, replaced the digitizer & back case.

The front glass is easy to do, just take your time.

N.B. Doing the back cover involves a complete disassembly of the iphone, doing the screen doesn't.

Here's the phone with it's new rear case (note I left out the chrome ring around the camera by mistake...DOH!)



Total in parts was $40....Both the front glass & rear case came with their own tools needed to do the job.

You couldn't pick it for a 4 year old phone.

Guys the Mrs has fuk'd her iPhone due to her water bottle leaking in her bag AGAIN!!!!!

If I take it into Apple should I tell them the cause of the problem (the real cause has Blonde hair!) or take it in and plead ignorant?

She isn't eligible for a new phone with Telstra until March 2013.
