SN4P2ND is the iPhone repair man on this forum http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/quokka/34698-fs-iphone-cracked-screen-repair.html
The screen on the i4 is brilliant. It makes everything else look pixelated.

iPhone Repair
iMPREZUH, didn't see this message until just now. I've got an iPhone repair business, we're open Sunday's too :P Might still be able to help you with your iPhone, even if it's in pretty bad condition.
www.BuddhaiPhoneRepair.com Looks like SN4P2ND who also repairs them is in Dianella. I'm in South Perth, right next to Canning Hwy. So if you are South of the River it would be very convenient for you. Our standard price for an iPhone 3G or 3GS Touchscreen is $95. Forum members get a discounted price of $90, which is cheaper than you'll find virutally anywhere. It's also a while you wait service, so if it's not busy it only takes about 15 minutes to fully install a new screen. We also replace LCDs, batteries etc. My number is 0405-577-285. I'm happy to look at your iPhone for you, open it up and see if it can be fixed. |

Good question, I can definitely help.
Firstly check with your insurance company, you might be able to get them to cover all the costs (or get a replacment iPhone) if you have coverage on your home and contents plan. The volume buttons, along with the headphone jack and silent switch wiring are actually one of the most time consuming things on an iPhone to replace, quite a lot more than a screen. You have to take the whole motherboard out to get to the necessary wiring unit. The volume buttons' switch is the long silver unit on the top right in the second photo. How long it takes and the price depends on what exactly is broken and I can't tell that without looking at your iPhone. If it's just the actual buttons which need replacing then I can do that for $40. If its the whole wiring unit which is fauly, then this is very intricate and time consuming and would be $70. Happy to look at it for you and see what you want to do from there. Give me a call with any questions. Greg Last edited by Gaijin; 20-10-2010 at 07:33 PM. |

thanks,
i don't have any insurance on the phone (stopped that about 2 months ago, go figure haha). The volume buttons and silent switch all work fine. Its just the volume button has been bent up and required force in order to get it to work. I would think it is just the button that needs replacing, not the wiring. |
