Let me say do NOT go to Oyster Bar at Port Beach.
Over priced (5% surcharge on weekends), pushy wait staff, CRAP food, SLOW service, etc. |

Long time ago I asked this girl I'd just met to come on a date with me. I thought she was something special so I really wanted to go all out & impress. Bought some new fancy pants (that’s a metaphor, I didn't actually go & buy flashy pants) & booked a table at Fraser’s. Anyway you all know how it ended... uncomfortably, awkward. I got too wrapped up in trying to impress her by pretending to be someone I wasn't. My mate’s big on the picnic thing... Champaign, strawberries, all that. Personally I think that’s too full on for a first date, second or third then yeah sure bust out the ‘special spot’ (You know, that place overlooking something you just wanted to share with her.. when in actual fact you discovered with a gf from three years ago). But the picnic is kinda like the fancy restaurant, it’s trying too hard. First dates all about moderation, your both just getting a feel for each other. You get the green light for a second then go spastic. I don’t even have a gf tho so I wouldn’t be taking any of this as gospel. Matty P, nice comments, your single right?
