Heres one for the tech heads.

So yesterday evening halfway through some general surfing of the interwebz my computer monitor just freezes.

The main CPU still powers up and all fans seem to be working but there is no signal to the monitor, mouse, and keyboard.

The computer is 6 years old so is it time to just bin it (after trying to retrieve whats on the hard drive)? Do i go for a new PC or do i join the i-Mac club? The computer wont be used for anything full on (gaming etc), but mainly general web browsing and the "occassional" bit-torrent download. Also wheres the best place to shop for either option?

Any thoughts from the computer savvy would be appreciated.
