Spoke to my gf's dad tonight, turns out there are bike paths along the coast the entire way into fremantle along Cockburn Rd so you never have to hit the tarmac with the other cars until you hit Marine Terrace (which is 50km/h) so it should be sweet.

Really looking forward to getting into it now knowing that theres actually a nice leisurely path to take along the water instead of having to battle it out with cars.

well, tonight's ride was interesting. My boss and I usually race thru the CBD over the Barrack St / Roe St intersection. Normally I go left and down Roe thru to NB near Metro's, he goes up Beaufort St then straight up Aberdeen. We then meet up near Toyota before heading out of NB on the cycle path. Tonight, whilst I was about to turn left, and he was about to go straight, he got taken out by another cyclist (my boss was at fault) but bent the fuck outta his bike and ended up sprawled across the intersection, luckily no cars were coming. Hilarious as fuck, but he now needs a new bike! Haha! Glad it wasn't me, I woulda been crying like a bitch. He didn't get that cut up, but he's hurting, and massive dent in his pride!

Hey Zmk

If you have cycle paths to commute on thats choice.. safest way to go.. to an endth degree.

I ride to work every day and twice a week directly from home. Until I get to the Bassendean area, I have to ride on the road. The section of Guildford rd from Midland gets real close with the trucks and cars...

From Bassendean on wards it's cycle paths along the train line...

Not to familar with the Freo / Cockburn road commute but on some windy days it could put hairs on your chest...

Cheers

Heard of this sort of thing happen many times. All shared paths are meant to be ridden single file. Good place to look for bike is-

Bikes for Sale | Bike for sale| Bike Shops

Good new and second hand bikes. Most good shops use it as well.

Yeah I try ride in to work as often as possible. Only 20 minute leisurely ride for me along cycle paths. Fuck riding on the road, people can't see 2 ton objects moving as it is.

Lycra is not cool, no matter how much you ride = le gay!

I often use Cockburn rd to get to and from work and I wouldn't want to ride a push bike on it.
