Hey guys,

I'm sure this might have been done before but in any case I just got a new iPhone 5 and I had an iPhone 4. I connected it to iTunes and it recognised it as two separate phones.

So how can I backup iPhone 4 data on my iPhone 5 as I want to keep all my SMS etc?

If you still have you iPhone 4, backup everything onto the iCloud. Setup iCloud in settings & restore Your new iPhone 5 from iCloud.

I've used this many times. Works Excellently.

I stupidly had both my iPhones connected at the same time so it recognises it as two separate phones!

So it's created a new backup for iPhone. 5 and one for iPhone 4. Is there anyway I can make the phone sync from a backup of my iPhone 4 now?

Can I reset my iPhone 5 somehow do it dies all these original settings again?

Just do a factory reset on the 5, then when it fires up, sync it from your 4 backup.

restore your 5 to factory, plug it in, select it as an option in itunes.

Okay click on restore iPhone in iTunes..

I deleted itunes so cant screen shot it for you - but will be under your phone tab in itunes - backup/restore option middle of the screen.

ALL FKEN NIGHT TO GET THIS FKEN PHONE TO WORK!!! DELETED iphone from the phone deleted and reinstalled itunes!! BUT IT STILL WANTS TO BACK UP ON NEW PHONE!!! FFS

I had both phones plugged in and it worked first time.

Try plugging the 5 in and manually syncing the stuff you want or contacts etc had the same issue with my mums phone and it was the only way to get contacts and other information across, hope it works out.
