LOL @ cheap euro cars, our tin pot baby sized market is a bigger influence on price than anything else.

Luxury Car Tax was never about protecting local markets.
When it was introduced none of Ford or Holdens products were considered by anyone to be luxurious. It was about propping up the FBT coffers. As if any government will voluntaily drop a tax, let alone the current one!

Yeah, I was being optimistic
I don't mind someone making a premium for a small market, but 3x is just getting silly. Since the car manufacturers blame it on taxes, remove them so we can all see how much Aussie 'tax' the Euro car companies charge us. Regardless, I want a Corvette for USA dollars and a trailer full of tyres.

Any car made by Ford or GM are just a bucket of bolts. All poor quality. Jeremy Clarkson is my back up :P May have oodles of torque, but I would still almost prefer a Geely for better quality for money....

The bogans will just migrate to the V8 SUV market such as the Jeep SRT8 and will donk up their tradie utes.

in most cases of manufacturing its usually supply chain management that will make or break the product/company.
i got given the flick 18 months ago due to electronics manufacturing dying in the arse in oz. jobs went to malaysia where it took 3 times the amount of people to do our jobs but it cost only a third. products were built to appalling standards initially and still are as the copany loss the 3 year contract. it then got shipped to china where the item will be built and forged and flogged aned sold for cheap as chips. china has the best supply chain by far, but a thriving underground business too. i think the bogans will cotton on to the turbocharging and make the most of the ecoboost cars, 1.4 turbo astras etc.n/a 2.5 litre 4 cylinder mondeos/vectras etc etc. as for quality, perth/australia had the highest quality of electronics manufacturing in the world in 2003/2004, before it got its work all shipped over to the plilipines and china. go aussie. |

you guys are all on crack, there is still a million of the fucking things on the road, it just means with no new models being produced the bogans demand for aussie muscle will push the price of the old ones up, anyone in thier right mind will now rush out & buy a heap of old VK commodores
