Default Consignment Car Selling

Hi Guys,
So, I've been contacted by a dealership in perth offering to sell my car on consignment.. Agree to a minimum price I want, add their cream on top and sell the car..

Ive never heard of this before, although have heard of other items, but never cars. in principle I see the benefits for me, as the car is currently sitting in the garage doing nothing..

Whats people thoughts / opinions / facts on this... Before I consider it..

Cheers
Ashley

Did this before. Got the agreed price.
I've also purchased a car that was being sold on consignment through dealer.
It can work.

You want to make sure of their credentials though. Make sure it's not a scam.

Apparently it does. For instance, I wouldn't go with these two. Just pointing out that there is dodgy consignment sellers out there.

Of course it does, you break the law you take the consequences, doesn't matter the game......

Thanks chaps.
Hadn't thought of the old Abn search.

Like anything I suppose, if there's an opportunity to rip someone off, some people make a choice & seize on it, others are legit..

I know we have a few guys on here who work for different dealerships, any advice, thoughts?

Cheers again.

My biggest concern would be some slippery prick in a white shirt and black tie thrashing my car around after work or on weekends.

I sold my old 98 WRX through KS about 8-10 yearsd ago. Worked well but I was a little young back then and they did manage to push me down $1k on what we'd originally agreed to on the paperwork. Wasn't worth arguing over but wasn't entirely honest and fair on his part.

Otherwise it worked well.

Never knew they existed in Perth as I was chasing one a few years ago. Good to know now!
