How do you work? What is your budget? What size device is appropriate for your work style? Laptops are so personalised now with so many options in the market.
I have a small HP Revolve, as I travel between sites a lot. Then dock it with dual 21's in the office. Eg: HP Spectre x360 Convertible PC | HP® Australia Surface Pro 4, with a dock at your office, so you can do dual monitors etc? $$$ https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-...tablet/837959/

Currently have a 17" but it is too big, would rather something smaller as I travel a bit for work. I mainly use it between home and office where I run dual 24's.
Currently getting prices on Surface and Thinkpad, I just want something super fast but importantly functional in my environment and happy to pay for it.

I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 for work and its great. 8 gig of ram with i5-4200U and an SSD is plenty quick enough and I work with lots of data and spreadsheets. Plus, its small, thin, light and has massive battery life which makes it great for travelling. Would thoroughly recommend.

If you want it fast go SSD. $/gb is a lot higher than a hard drive so consider what size you need carefully.
Most usual pc specs now are over the top for work applications unless you do graphics/multimedia. using the Perth-WRX mobile app

+1 for 360 Spectre, use it for work, battery lasts 7 hours, touch screen very handy but I recommend you get a anti glare film put on it and you will most likely need a usb to ethernet adapter.
