nah what actually meant to ask was that the reason why they get 138 instaed of just ten PAID sick days is coz of higher risk of injury im assuming.

What kind of people become police? and why?? Is it because they have a genuine urge to help the community and uphold law and order??But only if the price is right?? So obviously the mighty dollars far outweighs the need to "protect and serve"
It was a free choice for them to take the job, is it the ONLY job in the world? Maybe for the power trip, plenty of perks too. Respect for the coppers that DO a good job, flush the rest.
We ALL would like a pay rise wouldnt we? Pollies are the only ones looking after themselves, cops should punish them, not joe citizen

The reason why we have so many is because we have no workers compenstation scheme, so if you get hurt arresting someone then you can use your sick days and still get paid. As you now it takes alot longer than 138 days to recover when your shot, so the rest of the days off you have to pay for yourself, no pay. As with the justice system what others have said is all too true, we bust ourselves day in day out and the judge just gives the offender a 200 fine for assaulting a Police Officer. Maybe now you understand why we are after a pay rise
200 fine for assaulting a copper, gee I wish I ended up with that. I copped a face full of spit in the face (eyes/mouth etc) from less than a foot away and the little stain on the mattress of society got a 12 month cbo. Fukn bullshit. I'm just glad the fuka didn't have Hep C or anything else like that.

Perhaps if they got their payrise there wouldnt be a such a shortage as there are more leaving than getting recruited. Then they could attend a lot quicker to your misfortunes

Second the dog option. My Rotty weighs in at 50kg and is left inside when not home, better option.

I think thats how it works??? im sure the cops on here could clarify??

i dont think anyone would get given 138 days they dont have to be sik for.

normal workers usually can take one day with out doc note though as cops they need to get doctor note for even one day off.. so if u have a bad head ace or just not well u still have to make the trip to the doctors..

a lot of companies actually insist on a doc note for 1 day now...

Maybe they should use the excess fkin 75% that they make of the multanovas to fund their pay rise... seeing as they do sweet #$# with it.

Yes, great idea, at the moment only 1/3 goes back into the roads and the rest into the kitty.

i certainly think that the boys should get better pay. i have to deal with just a tiny fraction of the shit that they are getting on a daily basis and i lose my patience already. we get the kensington boys to come over about 5-6 times each night where i work because we have some dickhead pinned down on the carpet in the office, especially on weekends.

those of you who do not understand the perils and the ugly side of perth, mate.... u have absolutely no idea. i reckon if i have to do giddy's job i would've end up in court for tasering someone on the dick coz the guy was being a smartass.

i have nothing but respect for the cops who do their jobs right, and nothing but disgust for those who don't. i'm not a cop, but so far in my line of work i've been bottled, spat on, punched, kicked, whatever you name it its all there.i've wrestled people on ground full of broken glass. i'm lucky enought to not been stabbed yet. i've lost count of the amount of bodily fluids that i have came in contact with, including spit, vomit, blood, urine, whatever.

u think that's bad? the police have to deal with shit probably hundreds of times worse. those of you who complain and complain again without knowing how it feels like to be abused, both verbally and physically, try to do the job for 1 friday or saturday night, and see what u think the next day.

if u get to go home at all that is.
