Default Mcrae to sub for Loeb

Just thought you guys might be interested.

While Loeb is out of rally turkey with a broken arm Colin Mcrae will be driving the citroen in his place.

Hopefully he can get it to the end.

Will be interesting to see what he can do in clearly the best car.

Brendon

He showed he had awesome pace last year at Rally australia when he was running in 3rd up until the last day, until the stupid fkn mechanics changed his perfectly fine gearbox with a DUD!! And this was in a Skoda, so he has the pace, but he will be rusty, so i think a top 5-7 finish would be a good result..

I wonder what they would have tried to entice Sainz out of retirement again? They would be more concerned about clean safe driving and as many manufacturer points as possible for now....lets hope Mcrae doesnt re-visit the McCrash era!

hopefully loeb's back for Australia, but if not - should be another entertaining run from McRae

prediction -

early stages - fucken fast
middle stage - complains about car, still fast
late stages - destroys the bottom end by taking a 'mcrae shortcut'
complains about car

McRae was a world champion.. i respect the guy and always will.. to be honest he is the sole reason i fell in love with subaru. then in McRash era, he was in a car that was unfortunately nowhere close to the EVO's of Makinen.. all he did was push the limits to try get results, 2nd in every rally is nothing, if the same guy is coming first every rally

they used sainz earlier in the year from memory, but he seemed pretty adamant he wanted to stay retired. i'd imagine mcrae wasn't their first port of call. that said, citroens are proving to be tough little cars, mccrae will place top 5 easy if he doesnt put it solidly into a tree
