Got my policy ready for picking the car up on monday. YAY.

1700 pa from Just car which i didnt think was too bad considering SGIO wanted that for a stock RS and this is a full conversion with quite a few listed mods at 1k more agreed value

Soooooo cant wait to pick the car up, im in love!

seeing as its an insurance thread rather then start a new one, quick qestion to those who have lost their licence, how badly does it effect ur insurance?? not as bad a serious crash? or the same?

not sure but make sure you declare it to the insurance company, otherwise you could be in a bit of hot water if you need to make a claim

Its not as bad as having a crash cause you still have your no claim bonus, they will just charge you a bit more cause you have lost your licence, be sure to tell them though otherwise if they find out they may not even cover you at all

Some companies impose a special excess in this case, i.e if your make a claim you have to pay your basic excess + your special imposed excess + if you're under 25 some companies make you pay an under age excess.

Talk about making life difficult

Make sure you tell them as many insurance companies wont cover you in the young + lost license + turbo car scenarios!

If you hide it from them, they will just dig up records when u make a claim!

When i lost mine, i had to change to JC from RAC. Premium dropped a tad lower but my excesses are still around the 2.5-3K mark... With RAC i think they were around the 1K mark.

Suppose thats what u get for being a hoon!

hey i got a question, if i insure a car and say it has no mods or maybe just an exhaust (when in reality it might have a lil bit more, like.. intercooler, bov, maybe ecu), if i make a claim, would it put me in trouble?

is it better if i just say it has no mods, then once i am under the insurance then i tell them i have just put on all the mods i have on the car? thanks.
