Default Insurance Q?

Hey People

Looking at a 1992 Heritage that has been converted to an RS, now i need to insure this car and was wondering, will i get away with calling it an RS to the insurance company because i know they will try and get out of it (not surprisingly) if they know its not the car its meant to be? The other thing is that if i insure it as a heritage not many companies will let me insure it with an engine conversion and i obviously want to pay the least amount for it. If thats too much im thinking of just going full third party to cover other peoples cars as mine wont actually be that expensive. Please any help guys as i am buyig this car as we speak

Cheers
ADAM

Dude, other than doing a search i'll offer u some free advice! hehe

Tell the insurance company EVERYTHING about the car and about your driving history. Its gonna save u in the long run!! Its really not worth the hassle of trying to jip them.

Hate to say this but if u cant afford full comp, u cant afford the car

Dont try and twist the truth when it comes to insurance companies. They will bend you over and give it to you try and make a claim.

Tell the truth as it is: A 92 Heritage with a ej20 turbo transplant.

Then shop around for good quotes. Id recommend you start at shannons insurance. Good for people with conversions and etc...

RAC is usually ur best bet. Insure ur car under ur parents name and make uself a driver.. its the cheapest way when ur starting out.

Okay sunshine - Im not gunna repeat what Mat said - but tell the insurance folk everything! Might cost you more now but by the time your mid 20's your prems will lower and youl probably own a much more "nicer" car by then anyway. Just give it time - hell i bought a VR4 turbo (1997 Legnum back in NZ) when i was 18 and was paying $2500 NZ - silly boy, but now im older, and supposedly more responsible im only paying ~$700 odd on the Bugeye...
...like Matt said, if you cant afford the insurance, you really shouldnt be drving the car.
Congrats on passing your licence.. finally

Dude, thats not a good enough excuse.... No one on this forum WANTS to pay ANY bills (and if they do, theres a few screws loose ). Insurance doesnt cost much when compared to major services, brakes, tyres, problems that ALWAYS occur in modded cars!

Owning nice / modded cars when your "young" is all about sacrifices unless your on decent cash. If your not prepared to make any, just buy an camira
