Not going the dumped style the roads up here are shocking and like the idea of something little different for around town and the occassional gravel surf track.

Any thoughts on struts / springs / geometry issues?
talk to Pimpreza, he'll know all about what to do

If it's just for pissing around on a bit of dirt put some 15" rims with rally tyres and a set of Dobinson/ King heavy duty springs with decent struts and some under body protection and you're pretty well set, if it's for beach & dune work like mine you'll have to get a bit more serious, I actually put my last lift in today, 1" strut spacers on the front.... but with front and rear bash plates my lowest point at the front is about 245mm and under the rear diff bash plate I've got 275mm, most Landcruisers on 33" tyres have about 220mm under the diff lol.

Lol nice work man. Prob just start off with the 15's and struts / springs. Course it all depends on IF we can sell the perth house now rates have crept up as to whether or not I'll even afford one.

Cheers for info though good stuff.

My 1990 GQ RB30 Patrol.
Got it for 1200.
Was running.. Sorta.
I have had a helping hand most of the time while fixing it up so its been good.
When i got it..

Ford stromberg carby held on with wood.

Stripped, rust cut out, welded up, bogged and primed.

Sprayed

Standard suspension has no flex.. With 33" muddies

Now that i have my patrol going i havent driven my wrx for 6 months :/
Patrol has a fuel injected rb30, shaved head, 2.5" zorst, 33x12.5 tyres and the rest is pretty standard.

Bout time someone organised a PWRX offroad trip to Lanno or Two Rocks or wherever seeing as we have all these things sitting in our driveways.

I couldn't organise a beer in a Church.

Installed a lift kit into my old impreza wagon - just needed that turbo for the extra omph as it was a bit underpowered draggin 27" tyres around. Next time ill probably just go forry struts, stiff springs and squishy tyres
Toms one is well sorted when i last saw it. Definatly get plated diffs cos mine got badly bogged ALL the time (probably driver though...) or weld the rear diff and drop a shaft for road duties...?
Ausubaru for more info if you didnt know

Got the hi/lo box in yours Chrus? 1.46? reduction is much better ratio's than the old Lib box I have in mine, I think I still had the WRX box last time you saw it but the 1.19 reduction front LSD & 4.44's help a bit compared to the old 4.1.

Cruse to where???? AUSubaru are possibly doing the powerlines soon.
