Building a rally car
Just out of curiousity what is need in a car for it to be elegible to do gravel rally's around Perth? Im looking at purchasing a GC8 sometime next year and making it into a gravel rally car. I want to know what i have to have as bear minimun to pass scrutineering? Rollcage, does it have to be welded or is a bolt in ok? Tires? etc.. I cant seem to find anything anywhere that helps me. And i missed the rally evening last month due to work :(

mmm I have thought about this, But it still doesnt answer the questions i have. Reason i dont want to start with a cheaper car is that i will just end up trying to get rid of it when it becomes not fun to drive anymore.
Basically i have ridden and raced DH mountian bikes for awhile now and i know from experience buying cheap in the short term all ways cost more in the long run. Plus cost of reapirs for crashin and stuff, really i just dont want to waste money on a car i wont be able to get rid of after a year or so. |

that is a possibility, But i really want an answer to my first question but. Can we get back on topic? im not asking what car i should buy. But what are bear minimuns to pass scrut and race. This answer will apply to all cars.

Does anyone know who owns this? Its been for sale for awhile now. |
Its always cheaper to buy a ready built rally car then to build one yourself.
Thats obviously the point people are trying to get across to you. |
Yeh i get that mate.

I would look at this over a 1994 wrx for the similar upfront cost... |
