Default Building a rally car

Just out of curiousity what is need in a car for it to be elegible to do gravel rally's around Perth? Im looking at purchasing a GC8 sometime next year and making it into a gravel rally car. I want to know what i have to have as bear minimun to pass scrutineering? Rollcage, does it have to be welded or is a bolt in ok? Tires? etc.. I cant seem to find anything anywhere that helps me. And i missed the rally evening last month due to work

mmm I have thought about this, But it still doesnt answer the questions i have. Reason i dont want to start with a cheaper car is that i will just end up trying to get rid of it when it becomes not fun to drive anymore.

Basically i have ridden and raced DH mountian bikes for awhile now and i know from experience buying cheap in the short term all ways cost more in the long run. Plus cost of reapirs for crashin and stuff, really i just dont want to waste money on a car i wont be able to get rid of after a year or so.

Its always cheaper to buy a ready built rally car then to build one yourself.
Thats obviously the point people are trying to get across to you.

Subaru STi RA SPEC-C

I would look at this over a 1994 wrx for the similar upfront cost...
