Default Cobb accessport

Has anyone with MY15/16 wrx jumped on the ADM cobb accessport yet? Would be interested in hearing feedback on it, specifically stage 1.

Thanks!

Wouldn't waste your time. The OTS Maps are ok, but leave a lot to be desired.

I had one in my MPS because there was no one in Perth... So got a AP and then had to E-Tune it and the difference was epic. The OTS maps are very very conservative to cover all conditions and fuel qualities.

You can take you car to Maximum Motorsport or Tokyo Motorsports for ECUTEK retunes because there isn't an open source tuning solution for the MY15/16 yet (I think).

TL;DR - $900 (up to $1000) for a Cobb AP with OTS maps tha may not run as well as you want... Then fork out $XXX.xx for custom tunes either from possibly someone in Perth or E-Tuner from over east.

...or take $1500 to a ECUTEK tuner and get it done properly.

Yeah I used maximum for my 2006, they do a great job. I've read that the cobb tunes are conservative... But I've also read of engines blowing up too.

What ever way you decide to go it will cost about the same, so in my opinion go for the smarter option of a local workshop that can retune the car in a single day on a dyno with a professional / experienced tuner.

I am not saying that E-Tuners are not professionals (some estern states workshops offer E-Tunes for the WA MPS owners for example and there have been really good results) but the process of E-Tuning can be very iffy. You have to watch the AP for knock or lean conditions and bail on the data logging, not the tuner he only sees the log after you email it to them. Which is usually a 4th gear WOT log... Risky business on the street.

Yeah pretty much what I was thinking. Was interested to hear if anyone has gone the cobb tune yet. I'll probably end up keeping warranty and not tuning the car anyway.
