Default E85 Flex Tuning

Anyone had flex tuning done here in Perth?

Where did you purchase the kit, which kit is it and how much?
Who installed and tuned it?
Are you happy with the results?

Cheers,

Go.

I'll just be getting it all done in one hit through Tokyo.

The potential issue with flex fuel sensors are they are measuring conductivity...

Water in fuel is bad..

Zetronix Flex fuel kit - uses a GM flex fuel sensor and has the optional display.

ASG, MMS and Tokyo do it.

Fairly sure it can run through the factory ECU.

Best to call and ask.

Its on my list when I get round to it.

Probably just as much risk as getting water in the 98 tanks and not having a way to detect it until too late?

^^^That video is a bit unrealistic, that would be like dumping a bucket of water into your average fuel tank of 60-70L.

Obviously there are limitations to all sensors and systems.

All the flex sensors I have read about so far are looking for the petrol content in the fuel mixture and they do a reverse calculation.

Ie: sensor reads 15% petrol it shows e85.

sensor reads 20% petrol it reads e80

sensor reads 30% petrol it reads e70 etc...

Another informative vid.

Yes but the tune isn't going to change its values for water in a 98 tune..its just about a fixed value.

The flex sensor measures conductivity in the fuel and then determines the ethanol level the ECU makes it's calculations based on that.

yes the video is extreme but it shows the limitations of the sensors

That video shows the same however he says it is measuring petrol.....he is measuring the conductivity of the petrol that is all...
