I knew I could count on you for moral support!

I'll make the final decision when I see the state of my engine after it comes out.

Not looking good for flex tuning in my case. I am already on e85 so my tank would need to drained and a new 98 tune done then start adding e85 and tune until sorted. Plus the cost of the flex kit which seems to vary wildly in price...

Flex is my only option as we regularly drive down south and buying the missus another car is not an option.

Tokyo has your current 98 tune. If anything changes like your injectors, fuel pump, comp ratio etc. You will need another full 98 tune again as the base for the flex process then onto the e85 tune. This is how Dan/Jamie explained it to me anyhow.

Daniel at MMS also confirmed this is how they go about flex tuning.

So an expensive process depending on how your car is modified at the time and what order you do things in.

Yup, was aware. Loan = engine build, tax return = tuning + flex conversion. I don't think they've pulled my engine yet... haven't had a phone call to tell me how things look.

Wat about doing an e85 map and a 98 pulp map. Then just reflash when you want to change.

And draining the tank aint exactly hard. There is 2 drainplugs on the bottom of the tank (one for each side of the hump where the tailshaft goes.) You literally unscrew 2 bolts, put a 99c bucket under each one. Screw the bolts back in. Tank drained.

Probably aimed at Nick, but that is something I've also considered for myself. Tactrix cable + Rom Raider and away you go, yeh?
