Thanks guys all sorted now. It just so happens that you need to actually be in XBMC for it to connect. I had been trying the whole time from the start up screen AFAIK all i had to do was plug it in and viola! But anyway all sorted and transfering at a rapid rate

Props to all the help and suggestions but mainly to STI TUNED who I owe copious amount of grog to for putting up with 743,239 PM's LOL
