Digi slr Camera Advice ?
After looking at the amazing pictures some of you guys post up in this section.
I am seriously thinking of purchasing a half decent digi slr. Then i will no doubt be asking lots more dumb questions lol There are a few good offers over here at the moment and wondered what you guys thought of these options. Olympus e410DZ Olympus E420SE (with 17.5mm-45mm lense kit) Nikon D60 (with the 18-55mm lense kit) These are all around the £300 gbp mark and have been reduced quite a lot recently. Thanks in advance for any advice/guidence given Andy

I personally am a Canon fan but out of those two options, without doubt I would go for teh Nikon.
My experience with Olympus Point and shoot cameras is terrible. I hate them with a passion. The Nikon is definitely the better camera out of those two and even if you did have canon listed, most people would still say Nikon anyway. |

Just bought a Canon EOS 450D with a Canon EF-S 17-85mm lens, and so far I love it....even on auto its a million times better than my old point and shoot
I'm not an expert, but I used it back to back with my uncles Olympus E-410 dual lens kit. The main differences I've noticed: - The Canon feels more solid - The menu's are more intuitive on the Canon. - The Canon uses SD, which is an advantage for me because I have heaps of them, as opposed to XD card of the Olympus. - The Olympus is more compact than the Canon and feels a bit nicer to carry around because its not as bulky. - The Canon locks onto a focus point more readily than the Olympus, when both are in auto mode...in fact sometimes it took me so long to focus lock with the Olympus that it wasn't even worth taking the photo anymore. This seemed more of a problem in low light than anything else. This is very annoying, but I'm sure a setting change would fix this. Again, I'm not a pro so I'm not sure how to do this. - The Olympus E-410 twin lens kit is a lot cheaper than my Canon 450D enthusiast kit. So far so good....but of course, my opinion isn't very professional and I'm sure others have different opinions. Last edited by BALISTC; 26-11-2008 at 07:41 AM. |

I bought my new Canon 450D last week for my trip around europe and very happy, picked up a monfrotto tripod yesterday and im all set.
Im pretty much an amateur (did 1 year at high school but that was b&w photography and most is forgotten now). So this is the result of last nights playing around, please be kind :P criticism welcomed! Last edited by Wrexter; 27-11-2008 at 08:47 PM. |

Go to the camera store hold a Nikon and a Canon and see which one you like the feel of best and get that one because it doesnt really matter between the two.
