$69 is cheap for a tripod!!! you should get decent night shots with it aslong as you keep the ISO as low as possible.

I went one of the olympus un-killable ones before the trip to Tassie cos I have a habit of dropping stuff and so far it has survived without a mark and didn't complain after getting driven into the snow a few times either.

10 megapixles and so far 90% of my pics have come out pretty dam good. Lots of pre-set modes to so setting up for your pics is really easy.

Those Olympus "un-breakable" ones are a bit hit and miss.

My sister had one, it dropped 50cm off a small coffee table onto some tiles and the screen cracked down the middle.

Olympus were going to deny warranty on it, but she jumped up and down, quoted their sales literature which actually mentions hard numbers about its strength (something about a 100kg person being able to sit on it or something without breaking), and they replaced it.

Ramon, just had a look at the t700 camera. It seems pretty good! I really like the portable phone album thing on it

point and shoots are nice but once you start raising the iso thats when a Dslr pisses all over them, depends what you want it for in good light the Point and shoots can give you some stunning shots.
