Ramon, just had a look at the t700 camera. It seems pretty good! I really like the portable phone album thing on it

point and shoots are nice but once you start raising the iso thats when a Dslr pisses all over them, depends what you want it for in good light the Point and shoots can give you some stunning shots.

I got the Canon 960 IS just over a year ago now and I'm really happy with it.

Takes awesome really clear photos and the image stabiliser on it works an absolute treat. Only points that let it down that I miss from my previous camera (awesome little Casio Exilim that did me good for 5 years - including being dropped multiple times and surviving many a drinking expedition)

- not many preset scene modes. Which probably wouldnt bother most people who know what they are doing with a camera.. but sometimes I dont and I just like to have the preset scenes.
- low light its pretty average.
- not enough optical zoom.

Its beyond me why the standard of optical zoom hasnt increased these days.. there are still so many cameras on the market that have only 3/4 x OZ and I find it to be pretty average in most situations.

http://canon.com.au/ixus/ixus970.aspx this is the newer version I think.

I got my mum a little olympus mju 840 or something about 6 months ago and its perfect for her.... heaps of scene modes and a really bright lcd screen that she can still see properly in bright sunlight. 5 x optical zoom and a great handbag size camera

Next on my list will be one of the tough olympus cameras just because it should (in theory) be 'boy proof' .. and now that dan and his bro are forever hooning around in the mud on quad bikes it should be fun. That and the fact they have 2 of the olympus dogs.. so it must be safe to leave it lying around the house haha

Have a look at the Fuji SF100FD, got one for Chrissy - great stuff!
The world's smallest 12MP 10x Optical Zoom camera.

Haven't had a chance to have a play yet... the missus took it off me and wrapped it up, so I get it for xmas... yay!

Can't go wrong with the Lumix with the Leica lens.

I am still in love with my Leica DLUX-3
