Go for it mate. Personally I like very plane frames so they would be easy to do!

Dad is member of some photography club and as such end they submit a few photos each week for judging. They dont put frames around them just a mat at the back and a black one at the front with obviously a hole cut in it for the picture. Anyways he makes me go and get the matting from here.

Antons Mouldings Pty Ltd

The point is that already sell all the mouldings / frames in all the different colours etc. They had a brochure last time I was in there and the stuff is cheap aswell.

Only downside is that you will need an ABN number. Does matter whether the ABN number relates to the business or not but you will need an abn number.

I am sure that there are other shops out there like this.

I think tafe runs a night course in picture framing aswell. Once a week for 7 weeks. 2 hours each time. Cost is something like $260 for the whole thing.

Hope this helps.

Ive seen this done by members of the Bunbury Camera Club, it makes for a very nice presentaion, they even bevel the inside edges of the front black frame at 45 degrees which makes a nice white line around the print,
I beleive you can buy a special cutter for this purpose, its very effective and would look great as an overlay inside a frame.
There must be a place in Buno that sells this gear Geza. its good to see you have found a possible source of income that you will be happy doing and im sure you would get plenty of local work once word gets around...Good luck with it Bro

Dad has the tool. It is nothing fancy really. It just uses normal stanley knife blades. It would not be particularly expensive.

As for spraying your own frames I think you are making stuff way too hard for yourself.

You can buy them already done in all the right colours. One less variable that you have to worry about. And the moulding are seriously cheap.

Also excuse the crappy phone pick but I picked up the next piece of gear from the framers on Friday.

Yeah i paid $41 bucks for a single length of timber (i didnt check the price of that but everything else lol)

All in though has cost me $140 bucks so far just buying another spray can today for a few extras coats of the colour i chose....

My frame aint that special just a quickie to see what it turns out like....

That frame above is a one piece moulding. It is not two pieces glued together etc.

Have a look on this website.

http://www.antons.com.au/index2.asp

Bunnings is the biggest rip off ever....Definately to be avoided at all costs.
