A buyer in NSW asked me for some details and went through the troubles of finding out if it could be registered. He came back saying that when the car was imported in Vic, it came in through the loophole in the system.

The loophole supposedly was, since the RA version was 80% the same as the ADM V6 Sti, they never bothered to transfer all the parts over to an ADM shell.. So the VIN/Chassis number supposedly ID's where it originated and they had checked it and what not. RTA said there'd be a chance it could be registered if they saw it in the flesh, but there'd be a high chance it wouldnt get rego'd. (if that makes sense)

This is what i was told anyway (and i think it's right?)... If anyone could, correct me if the details provided are wrong..

It was either a private import, or bought in via the rebuild scheme in the way all Evo 1-4's came in.

-private import = you can do whatever you like to it, it will have a yellow plate on it somewhere. Best thing in the world ever = exempt for ADR's = most the fucker and laugh when yellowed.

-if it was under the rebuild scheme, then yes some people were exploiting loopholes. If it was regoed in Vic, then its legally going to be ok anywhere.

I thought the same too, but supposedly NSW are tough on it. It's a risk im not wanting to take.

Doesn't have a yellow plate unfortunately ..

had interest from VIC. Vicroads require a Vic (VASS?) engineers report & roadworthy cert to get rego'd.

Check with Blaise but I think that is was originally registered in Victoria so should not be a problem.

Yeah they would have it on record, but the enquirer said Vicroads would need an engineers report & a roadworthy before they got it rego'd there.

Bump.
