Stock ECU Help
Hey guys/gurls
Just got my car bak on the road after getting a new gearbox *hoooray* anyways. i noticed that when i started the car the check engine light stayed lit up...now i was like hmmm so i was just driving and noticed that the car Rev limiter is now at 4500rpm....i tried disconnecting the negative from the battery for 45 mins then connecting it and starting up the car again...the check engine light was now gone and my limiter was now back to normal.... Now...this is all fine for about 5 mins of driving...then the check engine light comes back on and the limiter is back to 4500rpm... Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is doing this ?? is my ecu stuffed ?? Thanks

Obviously something is wrong.
Find out what the CEL code is. Or take it to a workshop and they will diagnose the problem. |

Stock ecu's rarely shit themselves, so try looking at whats causing the ecu to have a hissy fit
AFM?

Hmm gearbox change...then CEL ! ...I`d be looking at all the plugs associated with the g/b change, o2 sensor, rear o2 sensor, netural switch etc etc
Since it happened like that I`d be looking for a physical issue first(plugs not plugged in etc), then move onto reading codes which should point yopu directly to the problem. |
