Default CEL on gc8...

Edited this first post.
I have had a cel ever since I bought this car, I'm waiting for the cel bulb to burn out but it's still going strong.
CEL code returns 21. Which is engine coolant temp sensor.
-all sensors replaced and ok.
All pin outs on ecu in correct position.

History of the problem:
The car had a power fc and 440cc injectors fitted. The first time it was tuned with a power fc the valves fell out. So it had no compression.
Went back to a stock computer and it was fine.
So then the previous owner had a second shot at the power fc. The tuner shop hacked up the harness and tuned it.
On the way home back from the shop the hand controller showed that the water temp was minus 130 degrees. Then the car just shut down and had to be towed home.
Back to a stock computer after giving up with the power fc and the temp sensor cel comes up.

As a result of this cel the car runs very rich.
All 4 thermo fan relays click in, fans run flat out non stop.
It's a pain to start as the ecu thinks the car is overheating so it runs rich to get it to drop the coolant temp, even tho it's cold.
Getting 350-400 out of a tank so I don't think it's so bad.
I just want this cel fixed and gone.
I asked steve at mms to have a look but he couldn't figure it out.

Any help much appreciated.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

Power FC is made for 207 so if you run a 205 two pins have to be changed. I think they were Crank/Cam sensor (Rossco?). So if you've plugged the OEM ecu back in, this could be the problem.

Read this and follow the proceedure....No point in posting all over the net without doing some diagnostics yourself!

O.k.... Well with going from a powerfc back to an oem ecu the two wires that have been swapped are the cam & crank sensor signal wires at the ecu plug....Probably the root cause of your issues.

Remove the passenger side footplate/ ecu cover & check the wiring there. Look for the two wires that will have been spliced.

check the splices and come back to me.

ok so wrx is up and running again, with box #3 and clutch #2.
but my cel is still there so i want it gone!
have been out playing with the computer...
i have crimped connectors joining original harness to a white loom.
on the bottom plug of the ecu(the shorter one) the red and white wires have those connectors that pull apart,
Also on the top plug there is a green wire with the same connector,
so red, white and green have been spliced,
it looks as if red and white had been swapped, i swapped them over and car cranked over but would not start.
i have pics...
not good quality but hey...

All of the wires are in the right pins, i located the original plugs that went into the computer and checked mine against them.
Wondering where the crank position sensor is and where i can order a new one from.
