Here's to digging up an old thread.
I have VWs and Subarus and have been trying the three different VAG com cables I had lying around on my MY99 WRX, none worked. I had a cheapo K+DCAN Inpa compatible cable for a BMW I had and thought I would try it... worked first pop. Works well with all the abovementioned software..
