Thread hi-jack

Has anyone had any experience with Plasma's above 50"?

I am after a full HD Plasma, been looking at Panasonic, but was wondering if Pioneer was any better? Or worth the extra expense.

I have read some reviews, but was after a more personal opinion if any one here has had a play with them.

Back on topic, My in-laws have an LG LCD HD 42" TV, my 6 year old 42" SD Hitachi plasma kicks its arse with clarity and response. I don't rate their screen much, but they only paid about $1200 for it.

I have an old LG 42" Plasma and it's still going great after shit maybe 7+ years. Doesn't even have a HDMI input and the set top box it came with is massive

So LG aren't that bad..................in saying that I would only buy Samsung or Sony after all my recent shopping research. It was a toss up between the Samsung 55" or the Sony Bravia 52". Sony won because it is 200hz compared to Samsung 100hz even though I would never notice the difference. Oh and it came with a free PS3.

I have a 63' Samsung Full HD Plasma (series 6). The picture is fairly clear, need to be standing back a few metres though. Still i think the picture on LCD's are much better.

I bought a full HD 50" panasonic about 1.5 weeks before they launched their new promotion where you either get an surround sound system or twin tuner dvd recorder thing for nix. Both are valued at $1099 each. I was going to do a dodgy because I get on alright with the retailer and get him to do me a reprint of my receipt that falls inside the dates but decided against it.

Dad has the pioneer and without seeing them side by side i cant notice a difference. I am sure there would be but unless you have them side by side you would never pick the difference.

If you watch much sport you still need to get a plasma. If you watch normal tv then a lcd would be fine.

Do Sony buy their screens from Samsung? If that is the case its probably why you nutted it down to those two Jaron!
