Default Banjo fitting for Bosch 044 fuel pump

Does anyone have one of these to connect to standard fuel hose? Not sure of the size but anyone who's used these fuel pumps before would know which one I'm talking about. Kind of urgent as it's for the surge tank setup I've been working on for Collie.

If I could get hold of one tonight I'd love you long time as it's stopping me from fitting all the rest of the new boot setup and if I have to get it tomorrow morning then I'm going to be cutting very fine getting the rest of it done in time to leave for Collie tomorrow arvo.

Thanks.

Don't use a banjo and remove the check valve in the outlet side spigot.....It kills the flow.

use straight barbed fittings (preferably aeroquip ones).

***EDIT***

Speedflow make a straight through check valve for bosch pumps.

Thanks for that, will do. Any idea where I could get one of these tonight?

I used the speed flow straight through on my RX7 12a to 13b turbo conversion, If I remember correctly I got mine through Go Gear...This was a long time ago though.

I ran a similar under bonnet surge set up as you are doing.

I ran a pair of low pressure high flow bosch pumps next to the fuel tank feeding a 2l swirl pot in the LHF corner of the engine bay. The surge fed a single 044 mounted to the lhf strut tower, the lines then split to dual rails each feeding 4 x 800cc denso injectors.

Good setup but on hot summers days the surge would absorb the engine bay heat when parked & boil it's content off back to the main tank.

Solution? low pressure return valve fitted to the surge return line, the small (about 5 psi?) pressure in the surge prevented the fuel boiling off.

I was told about the heat issue and was advised to go for a boot mounted setup which is what I've decided to do. So basically I've got 2 x AVO in-tank pumps feeding a 2 litre surge tank and then a Bosch 044 feeding the engine. I was hoping to use the pumps in the tank to feed the engine but it turns out they are only for in-tank use which is why I've bought the 044. I would have preferred to run 2 x 044's but I've spent enough on this as it is plus I'm not sure how much benefit another fuel pump will be feeding the same fuel line unless the line was upgraded to a bigger size.

Anyway, it looks like I may have found an adaptor to fit the 044 so from there it should be relatively easy to make up a connector to suit (fingers crossed).

Definitely remove the banjo.. I've seen plenty of dead 044s due to people not removing it and then smashing a hose over the top of it!

Glad you ditched the under bonnet idea, go gear should have the fittings you need.
