Snap On has been the best for us so far. I have broken 4 Chicago Pneumatics in the last 10 years and the Snap-on one has been going for 4 years now without any problems.

I find its the quality of the air that makes the difference with any air tools.
what are you trying / doing with it ? |

trying/doing: obviously he needs it to do mechanical stuff.... duh Ok let's assume ceteris paribus that air quality is the same in every suburb or town, i recommend kincrome snap-on or blupoint (which the guys on mobile Snap-on trucks carry). Costly but they last and most tools from them come with a LIFETIME WARRANTY !!

thanks for your feed bak gents,
volume of air and psi will not be an issue, i have a large Air comressor. I want it for whel nuts, crank pully nuts ect. It will be for home use but i want to to have enough grunt! Snap on would be my first pick but i dont really want to spend $500. looking at this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ingersoll... t_1526wt_782 thoughts?

For professional use there's plenty off well known brands around, they'll cost you upwards of $350.
Value for money you can't beat the 'double hammer' one that Supercheap sell on special from time to time for about $80. Do not buy any 'pin drive' or single hammer gun. The one you don't want has a push button forward/reverse near the trigger, they're shit. The better one has a forward/reverse on the back of the gun. It's less convenient there as you need 2 hands to change direction but they're heaps stronger. I use one at home and with a good air supply they'll undo diff pinion nuts, driveshaft nuts etc no problem. |

just noticed one in Nessco's catalogue ( welshpool rd, welshpool ), $450 for 1/2" Atlas Copco Pro series ( code # W2315 ).
SP tools has some good pricing as well and is comparable to the Snap On range, quite good quality. can ask me bro what sort of price he'd be able to do on one if ya wish but it'll still be up around the $300 - $400 mark |

Tool catalogue prices are always +GST so that's probably a $500 impact gun. No doubt it would be a ball tearer but possibly overkill for DIY use at home.
Atlas Copco and Shinano Pneumatic are both reputable brands. |

Yeah, that's a great gun but the $80 one will do 100% of the jobs you ever need at home and you'll never ever wear it out.
