Ok, i've de-winged it.

Who wants to install my rear Narva LED parcel shelf tail light for something?

LMatt 18-06-2011 04:16 PM

If I did it anyone could lol, just
Stick it on run the cable into the boot and buy the narva cable lock things and put those wires with your original one with the cable lock things. I have some left if you want them, So you don't have to buy a whole pack like I did. :d

RichX 18-06-2011 04:26 PM

I think i have one .. electrics not my thing (rookie) - Are the cable locks red? And i assume you out the +/- of the new light and have to cut the lead going to the original plug, and put the +/- of that intom the cable lock too and clamp?

Makes sense, i think.

kid 18-06-2011 04:26 PM

Yeah buddy its easy as!

Don't mean to go off topic, but lil matt your car looks clean as a whistle in that avatar :)

LMatt 18-06-2011 04:31 PM

RichX 18-06-2011 04:51 PM

Ahh nice one mate. Yeah mine looks kinda similar, but not ...

LMatt 18-06-2011 05:01 PM

Do u want me to drop over some connecters if you can't get it working ? I only live down the road.

RichX 18-06-2011 05:04 PM

Yeah mate why not. Not mounted fuck all yet. Would be good to get a second help to ensure it's centered n shit.

LMatt 18-06-2011 05:08 PM

Yeah had to get my bro to help. Is tomorrow good or ?

RichX 18-06-2011 05:10 PM

Mister Two 18-06-2011 05:23 PM

Should repaint the rear calipers gold to match the brembos...

OR...

Paint the front Brembos matte dark grey to match the rears... Little extra sleeper looking. :P

American Dave 18-06-2011 05:30 PM

colour code everything and another 10mm lower in front = porn

Rexxar 18-06-2011 05:37 PM

I like the black skirts/apron and put an ultrex black front lip and 10mm lower :)

RichX 18-06-2011 05:39 PM

I dont think it will go 10mm lower in the front, it's already scraping the liners a little on full lock. Need to check that out.

I was looking at the ultrex prodrive style front lip? I think that would go sweet.

American Dave 18-06-2011 06:10 PM

like ^^

dtrally 18-06-2011 09:49 PM
Alright no worries, pm me your number and we'll go dancing at the Leedy?
Rich, get the same lip as on the front of my 02 STi, Ultrex copy of the Prodrive one. They suit the style without being to 'fast and furious'

RichX 18-06-2011 09:58 PM

Yep thats what I wanted, for those reasons

RichX 25-06-2011 01:37 PM

Anyone know what torque specs the aluminium wheel nuts are meant to be done up at? Walked out this morning and noticed one of the lock nuts was just about to come off completely!

Jordiee 25-06-2011 01:38 PM
I like the black skirts/apron and put an ultrex black front lip and 10mm lower :)
+1 it looks porn, so nice with dewing

and no i do not know the torque specs, probs dont want those wheels falling off

RichX 25-06-2011 01:42 PM

Yeah de-wing is fully done, just doing the finishing bits.

Got the 3rd brake light mounted now, thanks for LilMattWrxy, just spraypainting the rubber grommets i got from Clark Rubber.

Jordiee 25-06-2011 01:49 PM

sick, you don't really need the 3rd brake light, i've been pulled over so many times and they havent said anything, been over pits without one also, i think kym never had one on his de-winged sti, but it's good to have one just incase

and so cunts don't go up your arse, if two massive lights aren't enough (generally the case)

RichX 25-06-2011 02:01 PM

No shit? you cheeky bastards.

I was worried mainly about:

a) Void insurance
b) Canary

Jordiee 25-06-2011 02:11 PM

ah, viable concerns, my thinking is if they're going to give you a canary, having a rear brake light is not going to stop them if you have a three inch exhaust and in your case, your car is on it's hole (almost)

ImPreSiV 25-06-2011 02:30 PM

yeah I never had one on my STI. Had every intention to install one - but I was lazy...

LMatt 25-06-2011 02:36 PM

Not worth the hassle took me and rich like 10 minutes too install. :) Saves your Insurance company trying to void your claim and it's just 1 less reason to get a canary. :d

ImPreSiV 25-06-2011 02:38 PM

oh yeah, totally agree! I was just lazy.

Hey Rich, has anyone ever said to you, you need to paint the skirts and rear spats? :P

LMatt 25-06-2011 02:44 PM

Would look awesome if you did, or look for some like mine best skirts and rear I reckon not too over the top.

muggz 25-06-2011 02:44 PM
Anyone know what torque specs the aluminium wheel nuts are meant to be done up at? Walked out this morning and noticed one of the lock nuts was just about to come off completely!
Rich,

From memory I used to torque mine @*110-120nm.. was considerably tighter than your conventional steel nuts
Yours were the Ray nuts yeah?

RichX 25-06-2011 03:19 PM

Nah the work nuts, 110 sounds about right though.

Yeah Kim i heard that mate - Can you hook me up with the same skirts that joesac has i wonder ?? I would prefer to do those as they have much more win associated with them.\

Yeah and same ones as Matt mentioned above, standard Subaru optional extra.

LMatt 25-06-2011 03:50 PM

It's a long shot but try ring Subaru?

Elrico 26-06-2011 08:00 AM

Excactly. You may not get picked for it by the plod but insurance will screw you. I put mine on the gc for the sake of it.

Piss off thats my idea!

:-)

Seriously though, ive had one in the garage for 6 months, never got round to it fitting.

RichX 26-06-2011 09:07 AM

Hmmm really ? You still want it? It only takes a few mins to fit ?

RichX 26-06-2011 09:15 PM

Think these are the ones I am looking for, or these are really similar to the factory option ones?

Kato 27-06-2011 08:51 AM

For those rolling without a 3rd brake light. Just remember, someone goes crashing into the back of your car, you have no insurance.

Rexxar 27-06-2011 09:49 AM

whats the go with tinted tailights when you get rear ended?

jEstEr? 27-06-2011 11:53 AM
