lots of comodores now with tinted tails hope they get served |
Next round of stuff on the inbound:
Rear Brembo conversion to finish off set Ultrex "prodrive" style front lip Alloy radiator New rear 02 sensor to clear CEL, get fuel economy back etc etc Also anyone know where to get these sideskirts? |
Had le' old girl on hoist to do put in new rear 02 sensor today (car liked this)Realised it has about 175km on her original motor and started talking. Will be due for timing belt again soon, and all the shit that goes with that.
So, was thinking perhaps 207 might as well go in if the front of the motor is off while cam belt got done? Build and get the bits slowly, over coming months or so. Was going to get the 207 block from jarvis suby (SCD with the factory pistons), + water pump and seals and stuff for around 3grand? Maybe throw new oil pump in? Need to do some searching around on what heads are compatible, with some cams. Heads cleaned up and restored. Also if my current Verso'd ECU will tune up alright with the 207. Looking to keep my existing VF34, injectors, exhaust and headers for the time being. Need someone to help do my front lip for some beer too, guessing it's a 5 min job but might need another set of hands. |
^^^ I like where your thought process is going
Justice is served
fkn lol! |
I think keep the stock motor until it goes. Prolly a good 100'000kms on the engine still.
Rich since you are now NOR I am happy to assist with the lip install. When do you want to do it?
207 only once the engine lets go as John suggested |
The engine is well looked after, so probably would last another 100k. Bought this car 5 years ago (stock as a my01 rock) and it's now fully owned by me, farken. Maybe just the 200km's figure sounds scary.
This Sat coming Dave if the weather is naice? |
yep sat works for me Rich
have you got plenty of cable ties ? :D |
Cable tie FTW.
Yeah cool, can organise - apparently the lip comes with a shitoad of double tape too.
I have spare ties, 3m double side tape, oh and lots of self tapers FTW
Good man. I ensure some beers will be had. Might even put on a keg for you.
kekekekeke
Someone say keg?? :D
I'll come talk shit if there's a keg on offer!
Keep that motor til it goes pop Rich! No need to fix what isn't broken... just yet! |
Keep current motor for sure.
If you are really keen, pump 2 bar into it. See if you can have some fun popping it? then you'll have an excuse to get a 207. |
All this talk of cable ties screams driveshaft lulz
Just seen the box for the lip, big - you still down for this davo? Bring all your tools.

yep sat early arvo ok with you ? |
Yep mate for sure, front of car off the ground a bit? Looking at the lip you have to get under the front a bit and it's pretty low
find some bricks or wood that you can drive up onto.
Let me pre-empt the posting of pics by saying the ultrex spec c front lip looks killa Rich, win.
Cant wait for pics
Cheers to Dave for the help, textbook install.

As above :D oh wait there they are stupid iPhone
Ok, i need to fit mine now :-(
That lip looks pretty solid and can take a bit of punishment. :icon_thum
Yep wayne mate, very durable lips these and easy to fit. 10 minute job with a beer and a mate. The holes didn't line up with my undertray however and we had to do a few self tapers instead, but all good!
From looking at the front pic, want a more pumped out grill. For $250 ..
