Alright so its time for a bit of an update.

Haven't been overly happy with the quality of sound from the stock stereo and with the GTWorx group buy falling through, money was diverted into the time to fix up the stereo fund!

This is what is currently sitting on the shelf waiting to get installed...
CDA-137EBT Head unit
PDX-V9 Amplifier
Scosche SU2029B Single/Double DIN kit
Subaru harness (no cutting of cores/cables required)
Dynamat

Will be waiting a few weeks before I'll be able to get some speakers, but the Focal K2 165 KR definitely has my attention.

It has also been a few months since several bushes/bushings were replaced and Group N mounts were installed (as per this post).
While there was a small increase in NVH (honestly not enough to mention) the only downside I have encountered is that I get a fair amount of vibrations coming through the steering wheel when sitting stationary at traffic lights on with the air conditioner on (giving the car some extra revs minimises the vibrations).
Not a biggy, can just turn the air conditioner off until the car begins to move.

I have a set of focal k2 in my sti and can say they are worth every cent you will need spacers to fit as the magnet is quite large

3/4" spacers should do the trick from my research.
Can you confirm this for me?

Just realised that I've ordered the wrong surround for the head unit, will need to see if I can source one of these locally before the weekend.
In the mean time, if some one wants a 2012 onwards Impreza single din surround, PM me and you can have it.

Ring Fabian at Westside dude. I reckon he could probably get one from his supplier by end of business Friday (providing they're in stock obviously). He's managed to get a couple of things for me in 24 hours.

Have u got steering bushing as well? it makes a big difference too.

The STD coilover is almost as confortable as stock on soft setting, no extra noise(it's negligible compared to GroupN mounts/WL bushings), but the car bounces a bit (it doesn't happen on hard setting though). Maybe u should consider it too?

Steering bushing was on my list of things to do, still is, but it will be the last one.
Would prefer to see what other improvements can be had first.

As for the coilovers, considering that I had a set on the car for nearly 20,000km, I doubt that I will be going down that path again any time soon.
Instead I'll be getting a set of the GTWorx Bilstein/RCE kits installed on the car.
After driving a members car that had these installed, I was extremely impressed and would definitely say that the car handled just as good, if not better than the coilovers that I had previously installed.
There is also no requirement for me at the moment or in the immediate future to have multiple dampening/compression adjustments as it will never be a serious track hack.

Should also mention that I've had my fair share of noise that is associated with pillow ball top hats, after spending considerable time and money trying to remove the cause the of noise, they coilovers were removed from the car and the stock struts put back in.
