So it's been a few months.. but I've successfully smashed another gearbox as of last tuesday - but already sourced a new JDM 4.44 V5 STi box, which went in yesterday.

The culprit: smashed spidergears in the centre diff + collapsed bearing in the centre diff, coupled with smashed transfer gears. Nice. Had been making noise for about 11 months - so it was about time it went considering how much of a hard time the previous owner gave it shit when it was in my previous wagon:



But I thought I'd take some happysnaps of the shitter with a DSLR - turned out pretty nice despite not being able to polish a turd.

Not much to update really; though I have a set of genuine RS sideskirts + rear lip to put on eventually, and will be putting some thicker swaybars/links/bushes and sourcing a new set of Coilovers as the Cuscos in at the moment are shagged and leaking.

Aside from that the RA Engine is ridiculous and pulls quite hard despite minimal mods at a subtle 14psi. The new gearset ratios in the V5 box is a nice improvement too; and it's nice not having a whirring centre diff and the whole car shuddering during the onset of the torque curve.
